With an eye towards reinvigorating the character of our towns, we are creating a series of interconnected spaces that will bring life back to the streets, are easier to access and more connected to the community.

Why Cowes?
Investment in Cowes is crucial to create vibrant spaces, improved liveability and employment opportunities. Residents and visitors will enjoy a more pedestrian friendly environment and increased social and retail activity. With the population across Bass Coast increasing by 25 per cent since 2019, and continued population growth forecast, investment in the public realm is essential to improving community life, the visitor experience and attracting private investment into the activity centre.

Why Wonthaggi?
The Wonthaggi Activity Centre Streetscape Master Plan aims to re-create ‘streets for people’ by reinvigorating the character of Wonthaggi. Wonthaggi has one of the fastest growing populations in regional Victoria, with a forecast rise of 33 per cent by 2036 to nearly 18,000 residents. The Master Plan has completed the detailed designs and is now ready for further funding to deliver works on the ground.
