Project Summary

This project represents another investment in recreation facilities within the Shire to renew three of Council's oldest playspaces to increase play value, access and fun, in alignment with the Bass Coast Playspace strategy.

Council has appointed Activity Playgrounds to replace the local level playspaces at McKenzie Views Park, Cowes, Woolamai Park, Cape Woolamai and Outrigger Reserve, Inverloch. Works are scheduled to begin at the end of March 2024 and to be completed by the end of May 2024.

  • New modern and compliant playspaces that are safe and fun for the community to enjoy.
  • The designs of the playspaces will foster social interaction and connectivity within the park.

This project is funded by Council as part of the Playspace Renewal Program at a cost of $330,000.

  • Installation of new play equipment including rubber and mulch soft fall.
  • Increased access to the playspaces with concrete footpath connections.
  • Replacement of playspace edging as required.
  • Improved drainage to the playspaces.
  • Appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures will be implemented onsite. These will be construction zones and, for your own safety and that of others, access will not be available to the public. A temporary perimeter fence will be installed to stop public access to the construction sites.
  • The use of heavy plant and machinery including noisy and vibration works for construction including use of trucks for removal or delivery of materials.
