Council has now completed the construction of a new soccer pavilion within the Wonthaggi Recreation Reserve.

This project represents another investment in sport and recreation facilities in Wonthaggi and will create a high-quality facility. Council recognises that it can be a challenge to deliver the necessary works and not affect key recreational user groups, especially when much of our work is determined by weather conditions.

There are over 100 players and approximately 30 officials and umpires who regularly participate in this sport. This exciting project results in a new soccer change room pavilion which includes fit for purpose change rooms, showers, toilets, kitchen and storage area which provide players and referees with a suitable environment to conduct sporting activities.

The total project costs were in the order of $870,000. Contributions to this project include Council ($120,000), Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV $700,000) and Wonthaggi United Soccer Club ($50,000).
