Bass Coast Shire wishes to advise of the construction of a new soccer pavilion within the Wonthaggi Recreation reserve commencing in October 2022.

Council has appointed TS Constructions Pty Ltd to build a new soccer pavilion for the Wonthaggi United Soccer Club within the Wonthaggi Recreation Reserve, Wonthaggi. See attached map for work location.

This project represents another investment in sport and recreation facilities in Wonthaggi and will create a high-quality facility. Council recognises that it can be a challenge to deliver the necessary works and not affect key recreational user groups, especially when much of our work is determined by weather conditions.

There are over 100 players and approximately 30 officials and umpires who regularly participate in this sport. This exciting project will result in a new soccer change room pavilion which includes fit for purpose change rooms, showers, toilets, kitchen and storage area which will provide players and referees with a suitable environment to conduct sporting activities.

The total project costs are in the order of $870,000. Contributions to this project include Council ($120,000), Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV $700,000) and Wonthaggi United Soccer Club ($50,000).

  • Vegetation removal and clearing. All permits and approvals secured.
  • Appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures will be implemented onsite during these works. This will be a construction zone and that we appreciate that for your own safety and others, that access will be restricted.
  • The use of heavy plant and machinery including noisy, and vibration works for construction including use of trucks for removal or delivery of materials.
