Project Summary

Council appointed Alexander Wild Maintenance to complete carpentry works & District Painting to complete painting works at the Wonthaggi Civic Centre as part of Council's Building Renewals Program. The project began on 11 March 2024 and was completed in April 2024.

The aim of this project is to protect the integrity of the building and prevent further deterioration of external features. As part of the building condition audit, areas of the Wonthaggi Civic Centre were identified to be deteriorated and in need of renewal.

These works will include replacement of wall cladding, fascias, posts, and repair works to eaves. The main areas affected are the entry alcove adjacent to the Wonthaggi Town Hall Carpark (next to the police station) and the Baillieu St Entrance.

Council recognises that it can be a challenge to deliver the necessary works and not affect council staff working near contractors.

The total project cost is $25,000 & $42,000 ex GST, for the painting and carpentry respectively, which is funded by Bass Coast Shire Council.

  • There will be noise from scaffold installation and further general construction noise throughout the project.
  • Car park spaces immediately outside of local laws will need to be used by contractors.
