Bass Coast Shire Council wishes to advise of the construction of the new Wonthaggi Croquet Club pavilion, and associated works, at the Wonthaggi Recreation Reserve, Wentworth Road Wonthaggi, which will commence in early February 2023. Council has appointed TS Constructions Pty Ltd to undertake the construction.
Upon completion of the new building, the old pavilion will be demolished.
Throughout the construction, Club members and guests will be able to continue with their competitions and practices.
The construction of this facility will provide a valuable amenity for the members and visitors of the Wonthaggi Croquet Club, who have been operating from a small portable building for many years.
This new amenity will provide fully accessible facilities; office space; full kitchen with modern appliances; social space and a deck with views over the existing lawns.
Energy efficiency has been a key factor in the design and planning process.
A new equipment shed is also to be provided to replace a collection of smaller storage spaces.
Upon completion of this building, the old pavilion will be demolished.
The total project cost is in the order of $727,650 which is jointly funded by Sport & Recreation Victoria ($459,000) and the Wonthaggi Croquet Club ($25,000).
The builder will establish a site facility adjacent to the existing clubroom and will gain access via the car park that services the current Croquet Club in Wentworth Road, Wonthaggi and it is expected that there will be limited disruptions to traffic and pedestrian movements.
All heavy vehicles entering and exiting the site will not be utilising the roadway in front of the aquatic centre.
