About the Project
We want to hear about your experience of transport and road safety in Newhaven!
We're preparing a "Local Area Traffic Management Plan" for Newhaven to understand and recommend improvements to make it easier and safer to get around the township. This will be done by reviewing existing conditions, evaluating traffic, parking and crash data and considering feedback from the community to determine trends and priority changes.
We want to hear from all road users including drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, people using mobility devices and commercial vehicle operators.
Over the past couple of years, we have heard a range of concerns from the community which have been captured and will be considered as part of this process. A summary can be found in the Current Conditions Report.
To provide your feedback, answer the survey or place a pin on the map below to let us know your experiences, ideas and issues that we should consider for this plan. You're also invited to come along to a Community Meeting on 18 May to find out more information and discuss your ideas in person.
Longer submissions are welcome via mail to traffic@basscoast.vic.gov.au
Note: Phillip Island Road is not included in the study area for this Plan. It is an arterial road managed by the Department of Transport and Planning.
Next Steps
Following close of stage one consultation, we'll consider all the feedback alongside the other information we've gathered and come back to the community in xx to continue the conversation.
Once the plan is finalised, it will be used by Council to seek funding with projects expected to be delivered over time as funding becomes available.
