Council intends to submit a proposal to the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) to review the speed limit on Mill Road. We propose a reduction in the speed limit from 100 km/h to 80 km/h.

This proposal is driven by our commitment to enhancing road safety on Mill Road, a vital rural access route in the Bass Coast Shire.

Mill Road has witnessed a number of crashes with vehicles running off the road. To address this issue and minimise the risk of serious injuries, we are not only recommending a speed limit change but also planning road sealing works to further enhance safety.
