Project Summary

The aim of this project was to extend the existing rock wall 200 metres east of the Inverloch Boat Ramp to increase protection of the existing coastline.

Bass Coast Shire Council appointed Landshape Earthmoving & Excavations under annual supply contract to carry out the works. Construction is scheduled to start 18 March 2024 and be completed in 4 weeks, subject to favourable weather and material and contractor availability.

  • Protection of public land and community assets from wave erosion.
  • Assets include the Inverloch Boat Ramp overflow car park, a foreshore access road, the foreshore shared pathway, grassed open space and coastal vegetation.

This project received $94,000 in grant funding from the Australian Government.

  • Removal and disposal of the existing concrete waste from the beach.
  • Removal of vegetation and disposal to green waste. All permits and approvals have been received.
  • Reinstatement works as required.
  • For safety reasons, the Inverloch Boat Ramp overflow car park will be a construction zone. Appropriate traffic/pedestrian measures will be in place for the duration of the works.
  • The use of plant and machinery including noisy works such as earthworks and use of trucks delivering armoured rock.
  • Please be aware that there will be limited access to the overflow car park while works are being completed.
