About the Project
The objective of this project is to seek community feedback on having fireworks as part of Council’s Christmas and New Year's Eve celebrations. Council has committed to deliver fireworks as part of the Cowes Christmas Carols and New Year's Eve celebrations for the next three years (2022-2024) and to evaluate the impact and benefits of these events.
In addition to community and visitor feedback, Council will also be seeking further information on the environmental and economic impacts of fireworks and the events held around these displays.
We aim to balance the needs of residents, business owners, visitors and the environment while creating a vibrant destination for all to enjoy.
Fireworks displays were held in Bass Coast in 2022 at:
- Cowes Carols by The Bay, 20 December, 9.30pm
- New Year's Eve in Cowes, 9.30pm
- New Year's Eve in Inverloch, 9.30pm
- New Year's Eve in Coronet Bay, 9.30pm

- 2023 season - 31 January 2024
