Bass
Coast Shire Council’s Infrastructure Delivery department will shortly commence
road works on Cuttriss Street from Inverloch-Venus Bay Road to 120 meters south
along Cuttriss Street in Inverloch. Details of the project are outlined
below.
About the Project:
- This project marks the beginning of a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing road safety and rehabilitating the road pavement along Cuttriss Street that has reached the end of its useful life. This project will bring this pavement up to current standards, providing a smooth surface for residents and commuters.
Thank you for your patience during the construction period. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions prior to or during the project.
Map of Works
- Remove and construct new kerb and channel on both sides of the road between Inverloch-Venus Bay Road up to property number 80 Cuttriss Street. This will include some underground drainage and stormwater pit works to ensure effective water runoff.
- The construction of a new road pavement will be carried out, and this will include a new asphalt surface, line marking and necessary signage to ensure road safety and compliance.
- There will be some modifications to some concrete driveways to align with the new kerb and channel.
- Reinstatement of the nature strip with new topsoil and grass seed.
This project is jointly funded by Bass Coast Shire Council ($78,666) and the Australian Government Roads to Recovery Program ($251,334).
- Please be aware that the section of the road where the works will take place will be closed for the duration of the project. As a result, access to some properties will be limited during this period. Our contractor is committed to working with residents to minimise any inconvenience caused by these necessary works. We will collaborate closely with affected property owners to ensure access is granted whenever possible. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to improve our infrastructure.
- Access to Thompson Reserve from Cuttriss Street will remain open during the works. Please follow road detour signs for access to the reserve.
- Some of the existing concrete driveways may need to be replaced with plain reinforced concrete at no cost to the property owners. This replacement is necessary to match the new kerb levels.
- Access to your property will be restricted for a four-day period from when the concrete is poured. This is required to allow the concrete to set properly before any vehicles can use the driveway. Our contractor will advise you, in advance, of any works affecting access to your property.
- Rest assured, appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures will be in place for the duration of the works, including road closures, detours (see below) and reduced speed limits.
- Emergency access will always be available during the construction works.
