Council appointed Mainmark Ground Engineering Pty Ltd (Mainmark) to carry out Underpinning works at Cowes Senior Citizen centre.

Mainmark undertook these works using the Teretek Deep-Lift method which involves the injection of one or more of our engineered structural resins well beneath the sunken sections of the affected construction (see the building layout), filling any voids encountered to maximise ground support and then, from deeper in the ground, lifting the construction as conditions allow, by the controlled force generated by expanding resin.

The total project cost is in the order of $62,000 fully funded by the Council.

  • Existing footings are concrete strip footings with infill flat slab floor and brick veneer walls.
  • The length of the footings identified for treatment is approximately 63 lineal metres.
  • 50 millimetre holes to be cored through the timber flooring where required to allow footing access.
  • No native vegetation removal required during the works.
