Project Summary
Bass Coast Shire Council’s Infrastructure Delivery department will shortly commence works on Hamilton Street and Albon Street, Corinella. Details of the project are outlined below.
Thank you for your patience during the construction period. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions prior to or during the project.
About the Project:
- In
line with the Strategic Tracks and Trails and Footpath GAPS Program three
new footpath alignments were delivered in 2023/24 and provided a
connection from Corinella Town Centre to the nearby jetty.
- Stage
2 involved the construction of three alignments, a footpath along Albon
Street, linking the existing footpath along Smythe Street to the end of
Peters Street, along The Esplanade through to the Corinella Foreshore
Jetty.
- Stage
3 involves pedestrian footpaths along Albon Street between Smythe Street
and Palmer Street, and along Hamilton Street into Smythe Street, including
three pram crossings.
- 1.5 metre pedestrian footpaths along Albon Street between Smythe Street and Palmer Street.
- 1.5 metre pedestrian footpath along Hamilton Street into Smythe Street, including construction of three pram crossings.
- Earthworks, minor vegetation trimming, and reinstatement works
This project is funded by Council to the value of $80,000.
- Minor vegetation trimming to allow for the construction of the new footpath.
- Some existing driveways will be replaced with plain reinforced concrete at no cost to the property owner. The reason for replacement of some driveways is to allow the correct cross fall and match new levels for the path.
- Access to your property will be restricted for a four-day period following from when the concrete is poured. This is required to allow the concrete to set properly before any vehicles can use the driveway. Our contractor will advise you, in advance, of any works affecting access to their properties.
- Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place throughout the duration of works, including reduced speed limits.
- Local resident and emergency access will always be available during the construction works.
