Council seeks State Government incentives to be available and accessible to low income and vulnerable community members for energy efficiency/emission reduction projects.

The Pilot Vulnerable Communities Program through partnerships, will deliver:

• targeted financial and advisory services to vulnerable communities to respond to climate change impacts;
• increase social connectedness to improve social resilience to climate change;
• link finance for low cost, high impact housing improvements to reduce energy costs and increase comfort;
• leverage available State or Federal Government assistance for housing upgrades;
• provide an evaluated program model for implementation across other local government areas to assist Victoria’s most vulnerable community members. linking vulnerable community members with existing Council and other social services and programs; and

Council seeks funding support of $300,000 to administer programs within our community to implement a Pilot ‘Supporting Vulnerable Communities’ Project.
