Project Summary

Bass Coast Shire Council has appointed Landshape Earthmoving & Excavations under our annual supply contracts to carry out Ayr Creek Bank Stabilisation in Inverloch.

Construction works are expected to commence mid-June 2024 and be completed in 4 weeks, subject to favourable weather and material and contractor availability. The total budget for this project is $80,000 and the works are part of Council’s 2023/24 Capital Works Program.

The aim of this project is the re-establishment of the gravel path adjacent to Ayr Creek in Inverloch. The current hazard is located in the Ayr Creek Drainage Reserve between Beacon Court and a back lane of Beacon Court - 100m from the creek outlet into Andersons Inlet.

The total budget for this project is $80,000 and the works are part of Council’s 2023/24 Capital Works Program.

  • Removal and disposal of the existing temporary structure.
  • Placement of rock bags to stabilise the bank. A 100-tonne crane will be used to lift the bags from Beacon Court covering a distance of 50m. The crane will be operational for 2-3 days and will require the street to be cleared of parked vehicles on the street or nature strips. The contractor will notify residents of when the street is to be cleared.
  • A 1.5m-wide gravel path will be constructed over rock bags using inverted box culvert.
  • For safety reasons, Beacon Court will be a construction zone. Appropriate traffic/pedestrian measures will be in place for the duration of the works.
  • The use of plant and machinery including noisy works such as earthworks and use of trucks delivering rock bags.
  • Please be aware that there will be limited access to Beacon Court while works are being completed.
  • Access to the Ayr Creek Path will be closed between Surf Parade and Beacon Court, Inverloch.
