Draft Public Art Strategy
Bass Coast is home to a thriving arts community with iconic public art pieces scattered across the shire. The Public Art Sites and Themes Action Plan 2014-2024 has now expired, and we want your input into the Draft Public Art Strategy for the next 10 years.
We've taken your feedback from the consultation in November 2024 and March 2025, and put together a Draft Strategy.
About Arts in Bass Coast
Public Art can be created in many different forms to be visually and physically accessible to the public, to enhance community connection to a place or site. Public Art is proven to enhance the aesthetic appeal of public spaces, provides a gathering point for communities, and offers sustained employment and professional growth for local artists.
The vision for the new Public Art Strategy 2025-2035 is to foster creativity, cultural expression, and community engagement through impactful and diverse public art commissions. Our goal is to embrace new approaches that empower artists and community stakeholders, encourage experimentation and challenge conventional boundaries which lead to the creation of dynamic and thought-provoking public art experiences.
