As part of the Public Art Sites and Themes Action Plan 2014-2024, Council commissioned ten public art projects through an annual Public Art Fund. Now at its end of life, a new 10-year strategy, the Public Art Strategy 2025-2035, is being developed to continue guiding for future allocation of Public Art Fund. Public Art around Bass Coast Shire can additionally be funded as part of other Council project goals, through successful grant funding, or may be privately funded by private property owners.

Locations in the Public Art Sites and Themes Action Plan 2014-2024 were selected through community consultation in the development of the Action Plan. Now at its end of life, locations for public art projects in a new 10-year strategy, the Public Art Strategy 2025-2035, will be developed in consultation with community stakeholders to determine how to best choose future public art locations.
