With community, Council developed the Fred Gration Reserve Open Space Master Plan which was adopted by Council in June 2023.

Key actions in the final master plan include:

• Creation of a picnic space with inclusion of a barbeque facility
• Improved drainage for the reserve
• More shelter at the community garden
• A new play space with a fitness area
• Replacement of the basketball court with a multi-use space which may include netball, cricket, tennis hit up wall and pickleball

Following the endorsement of the final Master Plan more detailed concept plans were developed. These concept plans were consulted on between April and May 2025, with all feedback considered and designs finalised in September 2025.

Council has adopted $150,000 in the current financial year to deliver barbeque facilities and a shelter as stage one of the Master Plan. The barbeque shelter facilities to be delivered this financial year include two accessible barbeques, two accessible tables and a larger shelter to accommodate them.
