About the Project

The construction of the mountain bike micro trails adjacent to the roundabout on Phillip Island and Back Beach Roads in Sunset Strip will commence on Monday 20 April and is expected to take 5 weeks to complete.

Local Trail Co will construct the new tracks, which will consist of a beginner, medium and advanced trail that provide a fun experience for all levels of mountain bike riders.

Council has worked closely with the Bass Coast Mountain Bike Association to design the trails and engaged with local residents to discuss how new vegetation can be added to the site and managed moving forward.

The trails are the first project to be delivered from the Bass Coast BMX/MTB/Pump Strategy Implementation Plan and is an exciting project that will have local Mountain Bike enthusiasts excited at the prospect of what is to come as more projects are delivered.

The site will be temporarily fenced off for the duration of the works and soil will begin to be deposited on site from Friday 17 April so that construction can commence.
