Proposed introduction of 30km/h zones
We are currently exploring the introduction of 30km zones in four locations.
These areas have been identified by the community as already slow-moving streets with lots of pedestrian and cyclist use, particularly during summer and holiday periods. The streets also have hazards such as open drains and trees close to the road that pose a danger for road users.

Smiths Beach
The project proposes to introduce a 30km/h area speed limit to the estate on all roads except for Smiths Beach Rd and Beachcomber Rd, which 40km/h is proposed.
Surf Beach and Sunderland Bay
The project proposes to introduce a 30km/h area speed limit to the estate on all roads except for Sunderland Bay Rd, which 40km/h is proposed.
