Council has serious concerns regarding the Planning Amendment (Better Decisions Made Faster) Bill 2025. The scale of changes proposed demands thoughtful engagement and evidence-based design.

This Bill was introduced without consultation with councils, who both administer and are most impacted by the planning system. Council supports MAV’s call to refer the Bill to a Parliamentary Inquiry to enable proper consultation with communities and councils.
