Bass Coast Shire recently completed construction works of Newhaven Soccer Pavilion within the Newhaven Recreation Reserve, Phillip Island.

The reserve caters for Phillip Island Breakers Soccer Club (PIBSC), Westernport Tennis Club, Phillip Island and District Cricket Club and the Bass Coast Breakers (AFL Women) Team. The local primary school including many local families and visitors who pass through the town also make good use of the Reserve.

Council appointed TS Constructions Pty Ltd to undertake these works. The total project costs were in the order of $700,000.

AUGUST 2022 - Progress Update

Progress update:

  • Vinyl flooring in corridor has been completed
  • Mirrors above the basins have been installed
  • Gas hot water units have been installed
  • Fencing and gate around the hot water units have been installed.
  • Installation of rubber floor tiles to the change rooms is underway

This exciting project included construction of fit for purpose change rooms, showers, toilets and storage area providing players and referees with a suitable environment to conduct sporting activities. In addition, there are dedicated toilets for spectators which are able to be utilised by the Westernport Tennis Club, local schools and casual hirers of the reserve.

The total project costs were in the order of $700,000. Contributions to this project included Council ($300,000) and Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV - $400,000).
