Project Summary
Bass Coast Shire Council’s Infrastructure Services Department will soon commence Maintenance Works on the Newhaven Jetty Structure, adjacent to the Newhaven Boat Ramp, off Seaview Street.

The Project
- The primary goal of this project is to replace deteriorated structural components of the Newhaven Jetty to extend the service life of the jetty.
- Bass Coast Shire Council will continue to work with the Victorian Fisheries Authority to develop detailed designs for a wider facility upgrade of the Newhaven boat ramp facility, in line with the Victorian Government’s Recreational Boating Strategy 2021-2030.
- Replacement of deteriorated crossheads
- Remove and replace any corroded bolts
- Rectification of deficient cross bracing connections
- Repair of upper-level waler splices
- Installation of one new timber pile
Value of Works = $75,000.00
Funded by the Victorian Fisheries Authority through the Victorian Government’s Better Boating Fund
- The site is located at the Newhaven Boat Ramp off Seaview Street. Please refer to the site location plan below.
- One lane of the boat ramp will be closed to facilitate the maintenance works.
- Appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures will be in place throughout the duration of works, reduced speed limits, possible road and pedestrian detours. Emergency access will always be available during the construction works.
- Our staff and contractor will notify nearby residents and user groups who may be impacted by these works. We appreciate that these works may present an inconvenience to some. We ask for your patience during these works.
- Plant, tools and vehicles used during these
works will generate some noise and vibration which may affect nearby
residents.
