Project Summary

Bass Coast Shire Council appointed local contractor Landshape under Council’s annual supply contracts to carry out culvert pipe renewal works on Garry Rd, Kernot.

Construction began 9 May 2024 and was completed in August 2024.

The aim of this project is to renew the culvert structure and provide protection from erosion of the road at this location.

These works will be jointly funded from the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program (LRCIP) ($44,451) and Council ($375,000) as part of Council’s 2023/24 Capital Works Program

  • Removal and replacement of the culvert pipe across the road including installation of new headwalls, rock beaching and minor vegetation removal.
  • For safety reasons, this will be a construction zone. A road closure will be in place for the duration of the works. Limited local access will be available. All appropriate works approvals and permits have been approved by the relevant agencies.
  • The use of heavy plant and machinery including noisy, and vibration works such as earthworks, and use of trucks/crane for delivering concrete/culverts to site.
  • We appreciate that these works may present an inconvenience to nearby properties, and we ask for patience during these times. Our contractor will make every effort to minimise disruptions during construction.
