About the project

We're planning for a Safer, healthier, and more creative Bass Coast – and your voice matters!

Every four years, Bass Coast Shire Council develops a Healthy Communities Plan to set priorities and create strategies that improve community health. Now, it’s time to shape the plan for 2025-2029!

How to have your say

What's the plan, and why your input is important

We’re putting together the Healthy Communities Plan 2025-29, which will:

  • Identify the biggest health challenges in our community
  • Find ways to make Bass Coast a healthier place for all ages
  • Support families, young people, and older adults with council-led initiatives
  • Tackle issues like family violence prevention, climate change, and public health priorities

By sharing your thoughts, you’ll help shape initiatives that support children, families, young people, and older adults across the Bass Coast.

What you can influence

  • Health and wellbeing priorities and focus areas for Council
  • Key actions in the Action Plan
  • The draft Healthy Communities Plan
  • Future initiatives, services, programs and activities

What you can't influence

  • Legislative requirements
  • Timeframes for the project
  • Budget for programs and activities

It's a plan for EVERYONE

This isn’t just any plan – it’s designed to support YOU! It brings together important community strategies, like:

  • Access, Equity and Inclusion Plan to ensure every voice is heard!
  • The Living Young Plan because supporting our next generation is important!
  • The Disability Action Plan because we’re striving for a more inclusive Bass Coast!
  • The Arts & Culture Strategy because creativity = happiness!

Looking to the future

We’re making sure this plan aligns with big-picture issues too, like:

  • Preventing family violence & supporting victims
  • Addressing climate change impacts on health
  • Following the Victorian Public Health & Wellbeing Plan 2023-27
