Project Summary

Bass Coast Shire Council’s Infrastructure Services Department will soon commence construction works for Fuller Road Stormwater Renewal Project in Wonthaggi.

Details of the project are outlined below.

We appreciate your patience during the construction period. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions before or during the project.

The Project

  • The primary goal of this project is to reduce the risk of property damage due to flooding by upgrading the existing stormwater drainage network and implementing new flood control measures. These improvements are essential to protect homes and properties from potential flood damage and enhance the resilience of the stormwater catchment area for properties
  • The drainage renewal on the westside of Fuller Road (between Ormsby Grove to Tibballs Place) will upgrade the existing stormwater network with additional stormwater pits, pipes, kerb and channel to capture stormwater runoff and divert it to the existing stormwater outfall channel.
  • The construction of stormwater pits and the installation of underground stormwater pipes.
  • New kerb and channel along with improved road width ensuring consistency between urban areas.
  • Earthworks including filling and re-shaping of the existing nature strip.
  • A new footpath, completing the missing footpath gap between the existing footpath network.

$270,000 - Fully funded by Bass Coast Shire Council – Stormwater Renewal program

  • Excavation for road widening, pit installation and pipe laying.
  • Fill and compaction of pipe trenches, road widening and the adjustment of nature strip heights.
  • Concrete pouring for pits, kerb, footpath and crossovers.
  • Reinstatement works as required.
  • Appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures will be in place throughout the duration of works, including reduced speed limits and temporary lane closures. Emergency access will always be available during the construction works.
  • Some inevitable noise, dust, vibrations and the use of heavy plant and machinery will occur during the construction period. There will be increased activity in the area, including the presence of construction vehicles and equipment, pipelaying and pavement works. We will take measures to keep these to a minimum.
