Project Summary
Bass Coast Shire Council’s Infrastructure Services department has begun the construction of a new footpath from Darling Avenue to link up with the existing footpath in front of the Inverloch Kindergarten. The project details are outlined below.
We appreciate your patience during the construction period, and please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions before or during the project.
- Construction of a new 1.5 metre wide concrete footpath linking the existing concrete footpath at the kindergarten on Edgar St.
- Footpath to pass alongside Edgar St drop off area to Darling Av.
- Modification of services/ pits and associated infrastructure along the path alignment (as required)
The project is fully funded by Bass Coast Shire Council at a cost of $30,000.
- The use of heavy plant and machinery including noisy, and vibration works such as earthworks, saw cutting and use of trucks for delivering concrete, soil and materials to site.
- Some existing concrete driveways will be replaced with plain reinforced concrete. This will be done at no cost to property owners. The replacement is necessary to ensure the correct cross fall and to match the new levels required for the pathway.
- Access to your property will be restricted for a four-day period after the concrete is poured. This is to allow the concrete to set properly before any vehicles can use the driveway. Our contractor will notify you in advance of any works that will affect access to your property.
- Throughout the duration of the works, appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures will be in place, including reduced speed limits to ensure safety. Rest assured that residents and emergency services will always have access during the construction period.
- These works have been intentionally programmed to occur during school holidays in an effort to avoid disruption to school and kinder operations.
