Project Summary

The project involves the construction of a purpose-built, fully enclosed dog park designed to provide a safe, secure, and accessible off-leash recreation area for dogs and their owners. The facility will promote responsible pet ownership, social interaction, and community wellbeing while ensuring public safety and minimal environmental impact.

The works include site preparation, installation of perimeter fencing and gates, airlock, surface treatment, accessible carpark, signage, water fountain, and seats.

This project is a Year 1 action in the 2026-2029 Domestic Animal Management Plan.

The works include the following:

  • Preliminaries
  • Demolitions and earthworks
  • Construct concrete path (3 x 1.2m section + Bin Pad)
  • Install airlock concrete pad (4.2 x 3m)
  • Pour concrete slab (6.1 x 3.1m) to accommodate seat, water fountain, and connecting path
  • Pour concrete slab for seat installation (2 x 1m)
  • Pour concrete edge strip tree surrounds (2)
  • Supply and install two (2) brown Replas Kimberley seats with armrests
  • Supply and install Civiq "Aquafil Flexi Fountain 1200BF" - Drinking fountain & bottle refill station with 2 dog bowls, and small soak pit drainage point
  • Water connection including new tapping, under road bore, new meter, SGW tapping & new meter fee, reinstate nature strips
  • Construct accessible carpark, including excavation, signage, linemarking, kerb & channel as per drawings
  • Underground service proving
  • Supply and install fence, pedestrian accessible gates, and service gates
  • Install a sign on fence and bin will be provided
  • Site clean, rubbish removal and demobilisation

$81,208.00 (ex GST) - Fully funded by Bass Coast Shire Council

  • No native vegetation removal required during the works.
  • Temporary fencing will be in place to secure the work site and keep people from entering to the construction site.
  • Minor disruption to surrounding areas; restricted public access during construction.
  • The dog park will be designed to be inclusive and accessible where practical. Access paths, gate widths, and circulation areas will consider mobility requirements.
  • Appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures will be implemented during these works.
  • Our staff and contractor will notify nearby residents and user groups who may be impacted by these works.
  • The project will result in noise and vibration from plant and machinery used for construction or delivery of materials to the site.
