About the Project
Council wishes to advise that the upgrade of the Coronet Bay toilet block is underway with the project being awarded to GR Design and Construct Pty Ltd.
The Concept designs have been completed with construction scheduled to being on 2 April 2024, subject to weather and contractor availabilities. Overall completion of the project is anticipated to be in June 2024.
Toilets will be unavailable for public use from 28 March 2024. Temporary public toilets will be onsite from the 27 March 2024 until the completion of the new toilet block.
The Coronet Bay Foreshore toilet will be replaced with a modern-day equivalent building with improved accessibility, passive surveillance, and facilities for the community.
- Demolition and removal of the existing toilet facility.
- Design and construction of a new toilet block including raising of the Finished floor level in accordance with predicted flood levels.
The total project cost is in the order of $283,000.
- Appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures will be implemented during these works. No road closure is expected, some sections of the car park may be used for contractor parking.
- The project will result in some noise from heavy plant and machinery used for demolition of existing toilet block, some earthmoving equipment and use of trucks for removal, installation of equipment or delivery of materials to the site.
