Project Summary
Bass Coast Shire Council appointed SR Excavations to carry out maintenance repair works at the Bourne Creek Beach, Kilcunda East and Mussel Rocks Access Stairs.
Construction works began in mid-May 2024 and were completed in July 2024.
The aim of this project is to renew the beach access structure to improve safety and accessibility.
The total budget for this project is $240,000 and these works are funded by Council’s 2023/24 Capital Works Program.
- Existing beach access stairs at these sites will be partially removed and replaced.
- For the duration of construction at these sites, access to the beach will be restricted and users are required to use alternate access points, as per site instruction signs.
- For safety reasons, this will be a construction zone. Appropriate and approved traffic measures will be in place for the duration of the works. All appropriate works approvals and permits have been issued by the relevant agencies.
- The use of heavy plant and machinery including noisy and vibration works such as earthworks and the use of trucks/cranes for delivering concrete and materials to site.
- We appreciate that these works may present an inconvenience to nearby properties and we have asked for their patience during these times. Our contractor will make every effort to minimise disruptions during construction.
