About the Project
Bass Coast Shire Council has established itself as a champion of education for the region.
Providing our community with greater access to university education, the Country Universities Centre Bass Coast is already making a considerable difference to regional students of higher education. Opening in 2021, more than 100 students were enrolled in the first year of operation.
In consultation with the Country Universities Centre - Bass Coast we have identified the following key advocacy priority.
Provision of Commonwealth Supported Places
The CUC established revenue sharing partnerships with five regionally focussed universities, underpinned by allocations of Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs), provided by the Federal Government. These arrangements contribute to the sustainability of CUC Centres.
A deepening of the provision of CSP’s to Centres will incentivise partnerships with universities, and further support fee sharing revenues from universities.
